Boat Building 2

Blue Winds is now ready to be turned over. She is unbolted from the strong and lifted.....

A rope is tied around her and she is eased over as the gravity pulls the keel towards the ground....

She is over and ready to be set up and leveled...

The temporary framing is removed from the inside of the hull and she is ready to be fiberglassed.

The foam is removed from the keel and floor section......

A series of 12 cabin sole supports are built that will be fiberglassed into the bilge...

The sole supports are in place....

A plywood cabin sole is put in place...the white board in the center is made up of laminated 2 x 4's set out across four of the sole supports to spread the pressure of the mast which sits on it....

This is the corner post for the cabin top....the plywood on the bottom is the deck.

Ceiling beams were laminated spruce and mahogany.
